Mr. Nguyen Dang Can has about 45 years of experience in the fields of consulting and structural design for civil, industrial and infrastructure projects in both Vietnam and overseas. His specialty includes:

• Structural design for civil and industrial buildings
• Structural design for bridges and tunnels
• Project management
• Management and develop construction consultancy activities
• International cooperation

After graduating, Mr. Nguyen started his career with Freeman, Fox & Partners (HYDER Consulting nowadays) in their London office from 1973 till 1980.

One of the very first Vietnamese returnee after the war to work for his home country, he joined the Vietnam Institute of Buildings Design (VNCC nowadays) at the same year as a Senior Engineer, and then worked as Chief Technical Supervisor at sites in Baghdad during 1987-1990.

In 1991 he was the founder and General Director of Consultants, Designers and Constructors Corporation (CDC Corp.), until 1997. He moved to head the International Co-operation Department of the Ministry of Construction and was executive Vice-President of Lilama Corporation in 2001.

In 2007, when Vietnam Consultant Group (VC Group), of which VNCC was a parent company, was founded, he was appointed as Chairman of VC Group and Chairman of BOD of VNCC until May, 2012.

In 2010, the Congress of Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association (VECAS, a member of FIDIC) elected him as a President of the Association for the term 2010-2015.

In 2012, he was appointed as NDC ‘s Chairman.
